[Hopper distorted] A trooper found something in the, uhā¦ water thatās at the quarry. Our working theory right now is that Willā¦ crashed his bike, heā¦ made his way over the quarry and, uhā¦ accidentally fell in. The earth must have given way. Joyce? [speaking clearly] Joyce? Do you understand what Iām saying? No. [trembling] Whoever you foundā¦ is not my boy. Itās not Will. Joyce. [stammering] No, you donāt understand. I talked to himā¦ a half hour ago. Andā¦ And, uhā¦ [stammering] And then I made this so he could talk to me. āCause he was hidingā¦ from thatā¦ that thing. The thing that came out of the wall? The thing that chased you? Yeah. Yeah. Listen to me. After Sarahā¦ I saw her, too. And I heard her. I didnāt know what was real. And then I figured out that it was in my mind. And I had to pack all that away. It was discovered by state trooper David OāBannon, just after dark. The state police are mounting an investigation to determine Byersā cause of death, but an initial inquiryā¦ [reporter continues indistinctly] Should I go down and talk to Michael? Give him time. Heāll come to us when heās ready. [static crackling on radio] [feedback whines] [crackling continues] Can you please stop that? [radio turns off] [radio turns on] [static crackling] Are you deaf? I thought we were friends, you know? But friends tell each other the truth. And they definitely donāt lie to each other. You made me think Will was okay, that he was still out there, but he wasnāt. What? [radio frequencies tuning] [indistinct whimpering] We keep losing the signal, but you heard it, right? [Lucas] Yeah, I heard a baby. What? Mike, you obviously tapped into a baby monitor. Will was an exceptional student and a wonderful friend to all of us. Itās impossible to express the hole his loss will leave in our community. Iād like to introduce you to Sandy Sloane. Sheās a local grief counselor from the church over in Jonesboro. But before she comes up here, I just want those of you who are having trouble dealing with this tragic lossā¦ Look at these fakers.
